REFLECTİON 1

METU is one of the most reputable universities in Turkey so I am proud
of being a student here.I was able to get into METU thanks to my
regular and hard workings. There were extra points for us but I entered
this university by my own efforts. While I was making university
selections,I especially paid attention to choose the universities
which give quality education.Actually,my first choice was Boğaziçi
University but I am not sorry about that.I am happy for being at
METU.Last year,I was in preparatory school and it was easy for
me.Hopefully,I won't have so much difficulty this year.I like studying
English but I have difficulty in speaking and I hope I will cope with
that and improve my speaking in the next 4 years.Being a department
student sometimes scares me because I have to study more and hard and
I don't know if the midterms and finals will be compelling for
me.However, how hard lessons are,we need to study.Besides, when we need
to,I hope our teachers will help us in this period.I really want to
improve myself and increase my knowledge. When I graduate from this
school,I want to say myself that:'I spent my university life
succesfully.'For now,I see myself as a fresh English teacher in 5
years' time but the time will tell if I am going to busy with academic
stuff.

I guess one of the most dangerous jobs is firefighting. They risks their life to save other people or other things, and they might be injured in some cases.Patrick Hardison's condition is an example for it.He had third degree burns of his entire face and scalp while he was trying to rescue a woman from a house fire.He could have died but luck was on his side. However,he got hurt badly, and had serious operations. He waited for a proper donor over a year. Finally,he had the surgery which was a million dolar procedure. He is healing now, and everything seems okey.He just have to take anti-rejection drugs for the rest of his life in order to be accepted his transplant. His doctor also says that he had an important procedure, and he needs to be operated shortly to remove the loose skin. This incident is a miracle for Mr.Hardison because the operation might not have worked.Instead, he regained his life.

(preparing the donor..:gerund phrase)Three months on from the million dollar procedure, Mr Hardison, a father of five, is healing nicely, although he will need to take anti-rejection drugs for the rest of his life to stop his body's immune system from fighting the transplant.(although he will need...:adverbial clause- to stop his body's..:infinitive phrase)
Dr Rodriguez estimates that no more than five of the other patients who have received facial transplants around the world died after the new tissue was rejected.(that no more than..:noun clause- who have..:adjective clause- after the new...:adverbial clause)

Different version of Imagine

     Imagine by İlknur Acar

Imagine that paradise doesn't exist
It's simple if you struggle
No underworld below us
Above us only welkin
Imagine all the people
existing for the present

Imagine there's no land
It isn't difficult to practice
Nothing to murder or decease for
And no faith too
Imagine all the people
holding an amicable life

You may say I'm an escapist
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll participate us
And the world will be singly

Imagine no ownerships
I worry if you can
No need for insatiability or starvation
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
doubling up the whole nature

You may say I'm an escapist
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll participate us
And the world will exist as one
